My M&P 15-22 made me go out.....

You just described my daily battle. I have 0 use for a full size AR, nowhere to shoot it, expensive ammo, etc. But darn they are cool rifles. I walk that line every day. Congrats on the find.

Nice buy!

I fell in love with my 15-22 and it brought on the same thought as you. I have been watching my LGS's and if I find the big brother for the price you did,it's coming home with me. If I can't get the price you did, down the road when I think things have calmed down and prices get as low as they might,I'll be getting a 15.

Mine made me pick up a or. Unfortunately I traded my 45c for it.

well since the mrs. took over the 15-22 i am searching for a good deal on a 5.56 platform for myself. the 15-22 is like pot: a freaking gateway drug!

It is definitely like a drug! I guess I never appreciated how closely the 15-22 mirrors the AR platform until getting acquainted with big brother tonight, It truly is the perfect training aid....

that was one of the reasons i went with s&w versus the others. the mossberg is a train wreck of plastic housing, and the umarex(colt) might be metal, but its not even close to being the same as a normal AR

I used to have an ar and regretfully sold it years ago. I knew I would have to get one down the road again but until then my 15-22 is great. At least I'm still familiar with the platform, an ammo is cheaper. Awesome find on your new rifle, I really miss mine!

I started with a M&P 22 pistol. While going through the waiting period for it I made an impulse purchase of a Savage Mark II bolt action combo with a scope for under $200. Sent an email to a local shop I hadn't had a chance to check out yet and $549 later (plus tax) I had a 15-22 FDE MOE.

It's only a matter of time and finding the right deal and a M&P 15 Sport will join them as well as SD9VE (or M&P 9mm FS if I find a deal too good to pass on). I'd really like to find a shop that'd do $1k+tax for the sport and SD9 but that might be a little too good to find right now.

Then I'm done. Really. I think. Except maybe a pump shotgun combo (home defense and regular length barrels) on sale at a local sporting goods store. Like the Mossberg 500 combo on sale for $340 plus tax this week...

Congrats on the sweet find! I'm currently in the middle of a 5.56 build and the 15-22 is the only reason i haven't foregone the rent and bills to finish it!

Congrats. Sounds exactly like what happened to me except the Sports were sold just before I got to my LGS so I opted for an OR. The 15-22 started my BRD and now I have it, the OR, a Spike's Tactical build and a lower that needs to be finished. Jury is still out on what I'll build that into so I'm taking my time. Enjoy them both as the 15-22 never gets old.

The ammo is kind of expensive NOW, but it won't always be. I got some really good deals on ammo last year, and still have enough to shoot some. The 15-22 is fun as hell to shoot, but man, an AR 15/M4 dialed in with some 64 Grain LAP ammo banging the gong at 250 yards with iron sights...

Just amazing.

BTW, I'm trying to find one of these now for my wife, while the $100 rebate deal is going on for Veterans. Not any luck so far.

My story is opposite: I bought a Colt 6920MOE and thought, "Dang, how cool it would be to have one of these bad boys in .22!"

So, now it has a 15-22MOE little brother.

Not sure if you're looking for a 15-22 or an M&P 15, but Kittery Trading Post had both of them in stock online earlier this week. There were some Sports for $699, and good prices on the 15-22 as well. No pictures, just S&W part numbers and prices. If I remember right, you have to call them to order.
