Monday I'm making the call to S&W to take my M&P9c back to the mothership for some repairs. How long is the wait time this time around? I know last year when my Sigma went back it was a 14 day turn around (from me dropping off to the driver handing it back to me). Just wishing it would be the same with my compact.

The 3 guns I sent back for very minor things came back in about 14 days from the date shipped. Think the last one they received on a Monday to work on, and I had it back the following Thursday.

Whats it going back for? Anything we should know about? Not to be nosey :)

How long ago was it that you sent it back?

When my slide is locked open, I can not push the slide release to close it. I notice that I couldn't do it when I 1st got it but it wasn't a problem until I was training last night on one handed AND weak hand shooting for the 1st time with my M&P and could not put my gun back into service after reloading it using only one hand. This is a huge problem and now I want it fixed.

Word is that's strictly a slide lock. Not a slide release. I know we've had several people actually snap that tab off their gun altogether attempting to use it as a slide release.

Grab the rear of the slide at the serrations and use the sling shot method. Don'e know how you're going to do it with one hand. Maybe rack it between your knees, depending on how you're reloading the magazine I guess.

Interesting S&W didn't say anything to you...

I have not contacted Smith yet, I have to do that tomorrow. The reason why I think that it is broke is the fact that I have had another M&P full sized and compact before this compact and both worked that way.

Sent my 9c in about 2 months ago. Took about 25 days to get it back. Mine was having FTE issues. No problems since I've got it back.

Incorrect. It is a SLIDE RELEASE. Notice the raised edge on the top of it? It is meant to be pushed down (releasing the slide).

If you look at a Glock's slide catch, it is nearly flat (no raised section).

Ahhh, that was what I didn't want. I hope it takes them 2 weeks but still :(

I called S&W tonight and the guy is sending out a fedex slip to my house. Really cool guy at S&W btw

Just an update;

I dropped off my M&P at Fedex on 6/1 and Fedex dropped if off at my doorstep on 6/10.

Thats fast service.

Awesome turn around! How does the slide stop work now, did they say what they did to it?

The stop work great now. Yes, they sent me a letter along with the gun to tell me what they did to it. Also, I asked for a pinky extension in my letter to Smith and he/she gave it too me.

well....

My M&P 40c was sent back to S&W last wed, they got it Friday June 10. I had 3 issues. With the first box of ammo I had 3 FTF's, I also noticed the weapon had a 'little' irregular trigger pattern, and a magazine safety issue...But you guys are right S&W customer serv is awesome. And really I am not pissed at all about the weapon. If they dial it in, I will be extremely pleased with that weapon...
