I find it really exhilarating that I am not the only one who likes to see and feel the guns that he collects. They are usually well used with all the scrapes and dents of a battle harden vet. They have been there and done that. My hobby is not only collecting guns but also the study of war, the instruments of war and the people who employed them. A copy of " The Art Of War" by General Sun Tzu lies on my desk. I also believe a clean desk is a sigh of a sick Mind! The two S&W revolvers are M28s with custom fossil grips by Patrick.

Raises a question that I ponder once and a while.......

In the peoples Republic of Massachusetts, your collection must be locked in a safe or some sort of locked room. How does having a bunch of your collection in coffee tables under glass or shadowboxes on the wall of shelves comply with an order like that? I often wonder while I'm discussing a given arm online with yawl and have pulled it out for said discussion, if the boys from the ATF or the MA equivalent came a knocking, am I going to acquire some new jewelry while being escorted off to the grey bar Hilton?????

Has anyone else ever pondered that scenario???

By that criterium, my sanity is obviously unquestionable......Ben

My cop opinion is lock up firearms when you are not home.

You need more stuff! I have two rooms, one is 12X20 and the other 12X14. Need to get rid of some stuff, then I can buy more.

All neat caves but way too neat and organized.

EEK!!!! My "man cave" really IS neat and well organized. Not much in the way of firearms on display. Mostly pictures of my lady, plus Marilyn Monroe and Dita Von Teese. Some political items, some religious items, and all very businesslike.

Then, again, there is the closet, also neat, packed with books and a boatload of ammunition. :D

Need pictures..........

The most amazing collection/display room I ever saw was Larry Sidener’s mock up of a 1950’s gun shop to showcase his collection of Winchester 42’s (all 184 of them). It’s worth doing a search to find pictures and a video. I sold him a 42 I had, the only known plain barrel field gun with a factory cutts (didn’t exist according to factory records).

Well, from looking at these man caves I guess I'll have to turn in my man card! I can't compete with you guys. It's a combination of my concern about being burglarized, as well as being wife whipped! Because of my other hobbies on display (guitars, cigars, Harley Davidson, lacrosse coach, etc.) my firearms, safes, and accessories are relegated to being hidden in the workout room closet. I would love to display some of my modest gun collection, but for safety sake I'll just keep it locked up and visit whenever I can!

I got you brother...

Since the kids came along neatness has gone out the door. Having a reinforced safe room though has been *awesome*. Yes, that a shooting range in the second picture.

Part of the problem is that I'm a hoarder and all my various...collecting. Gets into that room. Along with anything that will be for the gunshow table (when I am thrift shopping and garage saling I grab things I know people at gunshows will want and sell them for pretty much what I paid usually).

Plus, with the kids, my gun buying has been ... curtailed. So I have shifted gears and scratched the "small markings / interesting history / precious thing" itch by hunting up sterling / solid silver (lots of european silver out there, particularly 830).

All three of those boxes are now full of solid flatware/serving pieces/salt shakers/sterling what-nots + some gold bric-a-brac (who knew they made THIMBLES out of 10k gold?).

So all the various jewelry I come across for pennies on the dollar and other solid silver are going into that room, and I've found way way too much of it.
