Your lack of pencil barrels disturbs me
I'll see what I can do...I guess I should leave the 2" barrels out to avoid confusion...

5" 10-5...

Hmmm, that seems to be my only remaining 10-5 other than several 2" guns...I'll have to work on that......Ben

Photos of my two 10-5 mod numbers
Thanks. I thought one of them must be the 2".

But even in your closeup I can't see the flare at the breach end of the barrel on the 4" unit. I guess it's there, but I can't see it in either picture. The point I was making was that the 10-5, by definition, has the tapered barrel, not the heavy barrel.

Have pencil bbl in both blue and stainless. Both mint. Latter hard to find. Still looking for P/R 10, 2" with RB. SBs seem to be everywhere. Thanks for sharing.

My brother bought this 2 times at different pawn shops. At the first shop he found the 10-5 4" with a beat up barrel and a lanyard ring. A forum member gave him a 5" barrel, and another member (now passed) installed the barrel for him. He sent the gun to Birdsong for a Black-T finish. He put some stag grips on it. He later loaned it to his stepdaughter. Later he walks into a different pawn shop and there is the Model 10. He was so pissed that he almost gave it to me and I have it today. It is one of the best shooters that I own.

I shot this group with it at 15 yds. (always one damned flyer) A Six a clock hold might be better.

I got them all out today for a wipe down and visual check. I figured I would take a family photo. I have a total of seven; two -5, 1 -8, 3 -10 and 1 -11. Three of them are returns from Victoria police department.
Certainly vintage classics. The 2" is neat, but I've read some found it cumbersome when compared to a J snub or a Colt Detective. Well the venerable wheel gun always makes for an interesting discussion. Does the Victoria PD add provenance ?
Unless stamped how would one know?

Two of them have small stickers with inventory numbers on them to the right of the hammer. I don't remember if the third one has one or not. They were all police turn-ins and have no specific value that I know of.
