My Model 29-2 and Renaissance wax

Got mine from Brownell"s, Midway is good too.Use it on everything metal or wood. The wood shop guys recommend for furniture. My N's have never been prettier !!

Ren Wax

Here's another example. I have used it for years and it works on the stocks as good as the gun too. :)

This is one of the best finds that I came across on the forum. It does make blued or nickel just stand out, even older with some blue loss or minor pitting. I read the back of my can and it is used in some of the top end museums. There not much you can't use it on. Might just be me but I think it also makes cleaning after a day at the range easier.

Thanks RB

That looks great! Do you have to do anything to prep the metal or wood? Do you apply to the front of the cylinder as well? I have a 29-3 that I'd like to try it on. Thanks for the info.

All I did was give the revolver a quick wipe down, then applied the Ren wax with the tip of my finger. A little goes along way. Then used a cotton t-shirt and polished the wax off. Thats it. Same with the stocks. I applied a second coat last night and (in my eyes) it looks even better. It's fantastic stuff.

In my opinion, the inexpensive car washing microfiber cloths are a great way to polish off Ren Wax.

I agree that microfiber cloths are great for removing the wax. There are a couple of cautions though. Prewar magnums have some roughness in the checkering on the top of the frame and the barrel rib, and some grips have some roughness in the checkering. If one of those locations grabs some of that fiber it is a tedious job with tweezers and a magnifying glass to remove all of it.

That's some unreal results on those guns, gonna have to get some myself.
Thanks for the links.

Ren wax

Obviously it looks nice. Does it also prevent rust?

Andy

Well I used 2 coats on a silver trophy that I used to clean yearly .
It was always HEAVILY tarnished after a yr .

I waxed it 2 years ago and the silver is as bright as the day that I applied Ren wax to it .

George
