My Model 60

So, last week I was presented with an opportunity to trade my 2013 686 Snub for an unfired 1984 vintage Model 60, plus cash. Needless to say, I jumped all over that deal!

Here's a picture with my TALO 642. I took off the original grips to keep them fresh and ended up ordering up a pair of silverblack Altamonts to keep the pair in-synch.

Cary, what all was involved in getting the trigger job. I guess you had a smith do it? Is it just a matter of changing out the spring?

I have one Model 37 and another one coming in this week. I want to buy spare hammers to bob (keep the originals as is) and get a trigger job done on them. The one I already have has a real mother of a trigger pull. It's going to be my wife's carry piece and I'd like to have less pressure on the trigger pull.

Mind telling me what it cost to have yours done?

The Smith That did my gun polished all the parts inside, no other spring used. Original spring. He worked on gun for about 5 hrs. Cost me 125.00. Worth every cent. I was affraid of light primer strikes with lighter spring. He recommended not to change out the spring and polish the est.

My thoughts, EXACTLY! I originally bought the 686 2.5 to carry, but quickly found out that I couldn't pull it off concealed - it was just too big for me!

I'll tell ya - I got pretty lucky with old Smiths this past year! I found an old M36 no dash - practically mint, minus some finish wear on the cylinder and a well worn police issue M10-6. Now all I need is a M64 snub and I'll be good to go! ha
