I am really pleased with my most recent purchase. It is a 29-3 manufactured on Jan 23, 1983. It is in absolutely pristine condition. Just a faint turn line. No scratches on the blueing or wood. No indication of wear on any surface. As far as I can tell it must have been a safe queen. Granted, it doesn't have an original box or papers, but I couldn't pass it up for $350. That's right. I think I got a good deal. Just had to share.

Good Deal?.....The police are enroute.
Congratulations. That's a Great Deal.
I just dropped $570 on a 29-3 4" nickle. It's not quite that clean either.

I just picked up a 29-3 just like this (mine was made in May/June of 1983) for $500 and I was happy with that price. You got an awesome deal!

Any N frame for $350 is an excellent deal. One day I hope to start a thread like this. So far I have paid the average to high end of average for my S&W revolvers, but I got in this game LATE!

That is a fine N frame revolver at a J frame price!

Good piece of luck to run onto that beauty for an 80s price. I never did see a real bargain on any model 29. All I have seen was at the top of the price chain.

Thank you all for your comments. It was one of those things where I was in the right place at the right time with the money. Normally I am like everyone else--paying on the average to high end. Oh, and sorry for the poor picture quality. New camera--old operator.

Beautiful piece, I picked up a 3" 29-3 not too long ago for nearly twice that! Will yours continue to be a safe queen or do you plan to shoot it?

Very nice looking gun. Outstanding deal.

The grips on yours look much better than the grips on my 29-3.

Zombie 44: It will be a shooter as are all my guns. I think they were made to be shot.

Awesome deal. I love hearing stories such as yours.
I was able to snag a 29-2 4" in a small collection I purchased. If I were to average out the price of each gun, it would come out to $166 apiece.
It pays to buy in bulk.

Great revolver purchase and you flat out stole it as I never see deals like that where I live.

very nice gun and super deal. glad you will be shooting it. I think if you want to safe queen a 29 it would be the 29-2(although I safe queen nothing). but 29-3's in my opinion, no matter the contidion, are for shooting the dickens out of.

Fantastic deal! I picked a 29-3 up a few months ago in great condition for about $625 and felt I got a pretty good deal. You did way better than that!
