Brought this home yesterday. I love this gun and haven't even shot it yet. It's DOB was in 1980 I believe. If my research is correct there weren't very many P&R 4 inch nickel 27's made. The 4 inch was introduced in 1979 and P&R was discontinued in 1982.

One pretty 27! Congrats and welcome to the 27 club. Are those Ahrends? Don't EVER sell it. I did with my first 3.5" 27-2 and took me 2 years to replace it. Really love the 3-4" barrel lengths for packing. Great handling and a cool factor sky high IMO.

Yes they are Ahrends. I love the smooth finish on the Ahrends. I think the wife would go before any of my smiths.

I've got a P&R 4" 27-2 blue from 1980 and would love to add a nickel one as nice as your's.
Is your's in the about N700XXX range?

Diamondback it is in the N755XXX range. I was lucky to stumble across the gun. I here all of these guys finding nice pieces in pawn shops. I found this in a pawn shop it just happened to be an online auction though. I paid a little over $600 for it. Is this considered a good deal?

I was fortunate to pick up a blued 4" M/27-2 last weekend, it is in the N8XXXXX serial number range. Does the RR/WO sight configuration predominate in the 4" versus non-RR/WO?

LUST is a terrible thing! I MUST HAVE THIS GUN OR ONE JUST LIKE IT! I have the 27-2 Nickel in both the 5 inch and the 3 1/2 inch. Now I know what goes between the two I already have. CONGRATULATIONS on your find!
