Nothing super special or rare here, but I picked up a new 686-6
Plus 6” today. I’ve wanted one for YEARS.
Roughly 20 years ago, my father and I would rent guns at our LGS as we didn’t own any (that’s changed LOL). After several trips of renting 9s and 22s we decided we wanted to try something w/ more bite and rented a 4” 686 (the 6 shooter, don’t think the Plus models existed back then). 1st gun that actually kinda scared me, in a good way. The blast and concussion was eye-opening at the time. I’ve been hooked on .357 ever since, and have owned a handful of them here and there, but never a 686.
Anyway went to that same LGS today to browse, and decided today was the day to scratch that youthful itch. They had a 6” Plus that simply had to come home with me. It isn’t anything unique but I’m tickled to finally say I have a S&W 686, the gun that made me fall in love w/ revolvers.
Not great pics, but it should keep my Model 19-4 company. Can’t wait to get them both to the range!
