I have been wanting to pick up a 5" M&P for quite some time now. I have had dreams of turning one into the ultimate home defense/night stand gun. Flash back to last week when I was able to find a 9mm version in stock at Bud's Gunshop. I ordered it up and it landed at my local FFL yesterday.
Last night I installed the Trijicon HD sights and will be ordering up a Surefire X300U to slap on the front. Later today I will probably give it a texture job and it will be done. A note about installing sights on the 5" guns. I own the MGW M&P sight pusher, but it won't work on the front sight for the 5" guns. I purchased this pusher (Universal Hand Gun Sight tool - Home - El Cajon, CA) and it took care of the front sight with ease.
The only other issue I have is finding a few more magazines, but everyone is having that problem. I am alo thinking about sending this gun to ATEi to have it milled for a Trijicon RMR.
