My new BUG-Revolver

Hay Josh, show a pic of your Bug Gun.

You are assuming that I am tech savy enough to post pics.

I can assure everybody here that the gun I have looks just as good as any of the examples you have posted on your facebook page.

I will be getting in touch with you soon to arrange another visit to drop off some more work.

That's one Hell of a nice revolver. The custom work on that is outstanding. I may have to start looking for parts to do something similar.

The first match with the new BUG-R. It went well for the first time out. It was at a small match at a local shooting range. Four stages, with 28 shooters. The link below is a short video of one of the stages.

What's your .38 special load?

The hold open detent is interesting. Does it hold completely open?

Is there such a thing as an extra-strong yoke screw, for those who reload with their left?

jtcarm,

The load is 3.5 grns. VV N320 under 160 grn. RN Bayou Bullets. It may be changing just a little with more testing.

You will need to contact Joe @ Mojo Custom Gun about detente ball on the crane.

Nicely done.

For the new BUG-R division I am using my wifes 65-3 3 inch. Which had retired to house duty when she started carrying a 638.

It does a fine job. Beats a J frame hands down and meets the rule requirement of 3 inches barrel or less. (2.81 inches). Besides I had all of my Comp III speedloaders and carriers that I use in SSR with my Model 15.

My IDPA revolver load are Berry's 158 gr round nose plated over 5.2 grains of Unique. No worries dropping steel targets.

I'm hoping that the Safariland 567 will work. I just ordered one. Safariland said they should have it out in two weeks.

I use .38 brass on my IDPA reloads. The load I use is extremely accurate.

I have seen too many steel targets that didn't go down with light .38 loads. And too many rounds that keyholed through the targets.

That skeletonized hammer in Post 1 looks like a good way to get a bunch of gunk down in the action. I suppose the folks who cannot stand leaving a hole in the frame after lock removal will be along shortly to talk about how it needs a filler.

It most likely won't see much EDC. Some pleasure shooting, lots of practice and as many IDPA BUG-R matches that I can make it to. I don't think that hammer will cause any issues.

As for the lock, it must be personal. I don't see it as an issue. Joe was able to get a model 627-5 trigger so smooth and light, I'm still trying to get used to it.

Tjcarm,

I'll be testing some more hand loads for the 64 this weekend. I'll let you know how they end up.
