Great gun there and you are going to really enjoy it.
I have a Scandium frame E round butt in all black and love it but was jonesing the stainless version with the rail. Found one that was lightly used, he said 25 rounds, for a screaming deal and all the appropriate stuff in the correct box. Simply could not say no and now there are two! Somebody stop me.

Now go and shoot that thing!

I have the blued version of the E Series. Love the frigging thing! Glad you found one at a good deal. Mine was $1100 and I thought that was a good run.

Yes it was 550.00. A friend of mine owns a local gun shop, I was there just killing time, when one of his regular customers comes in with it. The fellow was eccentric to say the least. He said that he traded 4 guns to get it and that he was just tired of it. The owner said he wasn't really interested in it due to the volume of 1911s he currently had. The man persisted and asked if he would trade it straight up for a new Ruger LCR. When the owner told he him that the Smith was worth more, he said he knew, and didn't care. In the end he traded straight up for a Taurus model 65. Which had a sticker price of 443.00! I couldn't believe it! When I asked the owner about it he said the guy is always in there doing crazy things like that. When I asked what price he was going to put on the gun his response was " I don't know, I didn't even want it, but he wouldn't leave me alone" then he said " I got 443.00 into it, if you want it I'll give it to you for 543.00" my blistering fast response "SOLD!"

OP, darn good score. I just purchased a Stainless "E" Series non-railed for $682 shipped from BudsPoliceSupply.com (i.e.LE/Military discounted).

IMHO, very impressive (non-traditional) 1911 and unlike other 1911s (Ruger, Sig, etc.) this one is not leaving my collection.


BTW, I hope one day to own the SC Bobttail (Blue) as an alternate everyday carry.
