My well worn, shooters grade 29-2 in a beaut of a snubbyfan holster and a now closed tex shoemaker
cartridge holder has taken over my k frame as my favorite back country setup.
I have been a 38 guy, my favorite cartridge.... but the more I load and shoot the 44 sp and mag, the more it is growing on me. Especially since I sent her down to Nelson Ford for a tightening and action job. It was loose and shaving lead. Not it's tight, accurate, with a great trigger, and has a new lease on life. It is such a well balanced shooter. Goes well with the charter bulldog that is my EDC.
I moved from hicap polymer guns to revolvers in my mid 30's and never looked back even though I still own them. I don't need massive capacity and I just appreciate the fine lines and feel of wood and steel. All my friends think I am archaic and josh me for running wheel guns but I think I am just practical and I appreciate a fine design that appeals to me both in feel and accuracy. I don't feel like I don't have enough rounds. 12 are just fine. Sure I can carry a Glock with two to three times the capacity and less weight..... but I don't because nothing says class and fine lines like a classic smith.
I am saddened by the ding I got on the beautiful ahrends stocks the other day though. You can see it in the photo on the bottom. Hit it on the edge of my rhino getting out. I cried a little inside.
Just wanted to share on this fine Saturday
