I picked this up at a local chain store yesterday after my 3 day wait. Went to the range today and here is the results. I can live with that I think. I belive it is somewhere in the late 50's, If someone could date it for me that would be great. s#k236992

Nice looking gun. Looks like it might be a 1955 vintage.

Suhweeeet! Good shootin... I have two K-22s I've acquired in the last six weeks and haven't shot either. I need to get motivated and go to the range. Good for you.

Congratulations on the purchase of my favorite shooting S&W revolver. My favorite looking S&W revolver will always be the Model 27-2 but for just plain shooting it's the K22 and Model 17 all the way.

Heres my K22 made in 1955

Shoot iiittt!!!

I take mine in the woods and peg rocks, pine cones, dirt clods, not too much noise, cheap ammo, awesome gun it's pretty much the funnest day I guy could have.

I really like your new K22. I would love to find one like that, great purchase. And very accurate. I have an 18 that shot a group at 100 yds I could cover with a dime. "Course I only fired one round. Great gun, enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

I did note that when I open the cylinder and tip the gun back that two empties fall out on there own. Then I only have to push the ejector rod only about a 1/8th in and the rest fall out. Hey, 625smith I didn't think that 25-7 shot real well so you should sell it to me!!!!!

The Fabulous 50's S&W K-22's

Hello MEMPHISBELLE
Nice looking 1955 K-22 you have there. Here is a Non Model stamped K-22 that is a Four screw version that shipped in May 1956. The Four screw Non Model stamped K-22's had a very short run as in 1957 they started stamping all Guns with model number's and the K-22 was assigned the Model number 17. This one came to me N.I.B. at the annual S&WCA meeting this June and has not been fired by me as well...It came with it's original Box, paperwork and tools. The Magna's are serial numbered to the gun as well. These K-22's are very addictive and this one is late for having the upswept hammer still being used on it..

I am a bigger fan of the 17's,but just about any .22 will do. I have only been collecting Smith's for about 3 years. I do only have 1 k-22 the rest are 17's,617 and 18. I guess this will have to do for now
