been away from the site for awhile...had to sell all my guns for some pressing financial issues...but now that we have our heads above water again, i went out and purchased this sweet model 15 today...

it really does look brand new...it's a 15-2, from 1966 i think.

i've had a few older smith and wessons and this is by far the most pristine model i've had the pleasure of owning.

but, alas, i bought it to be a shooter, so it wont stay that way for long.:D

can't wait to get it to the range, cheers.045.JPG

the only blemish is something i've never seen before on a revolver.

there is a thin filament that runs in a very thin groove at the front of each chamber...on one of the chambers this filament is sticking straight up out of its groove a good quarter inch or so. i originally thought it was just a piece of hair stuck in there.

i was going to cut it out, but decided just to shoot it and see if that gets rid of the offending critter.

any thoughts? thanks.
