My New MP-15 MOE

A week ago the past Saturday, I went to the Ft. Myers Gun Show. I fell in love with an MP-15 MOE, so I bought it. I love the .223 cal rifles.

This one just seemed to catch my eye out of all the tables of guns there. It felt good, looked good, right caliber. I went shooting with it this past Thursday and all I can say is WOW.

This rifle performed perfectly. I had to do a little bit of sighting on it. But it is spot on. I added an NcStar Holagram sight and it just happens to fall in at the exact same plain as the iron sights. What luck. So I zero'd that sight in and it's like I have electronic sights now. Red or Green with 4 choices of sight; circle, dot, crosshair or circle and crosshair.

It's really a great rifle and the 30 round PMAG is wonderful. I shot off about 210 rounds and not ever a misfeed or misfire. I was using the 50 yard range. Next trip, I'll go to the 100 and maybe 200. I'm waiting for a spotting scope I just bought off the internet to arrive. The binoculars were okay for 50 yards, but need some optical power for 100/200.

Since I love the rifle so much, I'm selling my Ruger Mini-14 Strikeforce. The ad is in the Classified section of this forum, if anyone is interested.

All I can say is, "Smith and Wesson did a great job on this rifle. That's why it's 2009's Rifle of the Year."

If you don't mind me asking, how much was the MOE version going for? The Smith & Wesson website doesn't list a MSRP and they currently show them as out of stock. I'm just curious how the price compares to the 15X and the 15T? I really like the Magpul add-ons! Happy shooting!

Mine was listed for $1,599 and I got it for $1,125 plus tax. I've seen them from $995 to $1600. It's a great rifle and I'm happy.

Congrats on the new rifle! You wont be disappointed with it. I have the M&P15T and love it. I have an EoTech 512 on it and have no problem hitting the 500yd target at the range.

The Magpul accessories look great on that rifle as well. Good luck and have fun. Post some pics if you can.

I'm waiting for my M&P15T order to come in. I had to take advantage of S&W's 40 percent discount they are offering to military active duty and retirees. I was torn between the 15X and 15T. The 15X is not currently in stock but the 15T was. I went with the 15T for the free floating hand rail. With 40 percent off MSRP that equals $1132.00 and no tax!

Congrats on the new rifle! I unwittingly turned my Bushmaster into an MOE version LOL. Magpul makes great stuff.
