finally.....this gun is sweet....i'll post the pics that i have....need to charge the battery for momma's camera.

S/N 93950....same number on inside of one of the grips, and on the face of the cylinder....can see nothing but the factory numbers on the yoke....no model 36....or any - or mod numbers.....all steel....i don't know how i could tell, but i'm not sure this gun has ever been fired....lock up and everything is like a new gun....

would like to contact S&W about a history....any hints on what i need to do?

thanks....

You can contact DavidValenze at Smith and Wesson [[email protected]] with a description and serial number and he will research and give you a date it was manufactured.

I have a beautiful Model 36 with serial number of 151*** and he said it dates to 1958 or 1959.

You can spend $50 with Smith and Wesson to get a letter on yours.

just looking for a little info that won't cost me $50.

tell me what you know....just checked the web site of our local libary....they have 1 copy of the standard catalog of smith and wesson...

thanks

Nice "flatlatch!"

Flatlatches and "diamonds" always catch my eye! Here's my flatlatch, in factory bright nickel plate, from the '62-'64 era . . .
