That's awesome. It's doesn't look like a regular tension pin, though, and the sight ramp isn't blued, either. You think it's easy to knock that pin out?

I have a similar 64-3 headed my way and hope it too has a replaceable front sight!

it is a heavy barrel -3. I also have a 3inch model 686 and a model 13 and a model 31.now with this I have the standard barrel 64 a 64-1hb and now this. all I need is a snubby and I got it all for the 64.

yeah it is a old leo gun.I think it was damaged and that is how they repaired it.might have been done by S&W.the hammer and trigger look kinda new.not much wear on them.but I need a IWB holster for it now.

Nice 64! I wish I still had mine. Don't remember what dash is was, but damn, what a nice piece!

Anyway, I have a Milt Sparks summer special for my 3" 686+. Believe it or not, it actually makes that big gun disappear rather well. It was definately worth the six month wait.

Nice find. I have only one k-frame, 3-inch, a 65-5. Love those 3-inch barrels!
