my new to me 64 Impala

Dangit, I had almost the same car! I had the 64 Impala with a 283' engine and a 2 speed automatic. Got 22 miles a gallon out of that tank. I remember how the fenders on that wouldn't buckle when you leaned on it.
I had a 63 Belair, too, practically the same car. The 2 speed auto in that one became a one speed, low only. Drove it like that for about 2 moths before I let it go.

Thanks for bringing back good memories!

Sweet, enjoy going to the car shows, is it auto, or stick, how about what size engine, any mods done.
I didn't see SS any place on the fenders!
I go to car shows all the time, love to the 409, sitting under the hoods.

Aw, man. That's awsome! Of all the vehicles I've owned through the years my all-time favorite was the 1963 Impala convertible I owned as a senior in HS. It looked like ****, but that car screamed, and as bad as it looked, the girls loved it. Probably because it was the only student owned convertible in my school.

If my 64 Impala convertible could talk . . .actually, it's better that it couldn't. Would love to have one again.

Mom bougt a 64 Impala SS new in 64. It was maroon with black vinyl
bucket seats with a 409 4 bbl and 3 speed auto console shift. It even had a rear speaker
for an AM radio! I think it had Positrack, cause it would smoke both rears!
Supposedly, the 64 Impala SS was the first factory car with a console automatic.

I remember Mom and Dad taking care were they went and parked,
as the 64 Impala SS was the most stolen car in the Indianapolis area.

The car was a total hauler (409 big block 4 bbl) and would spin the wheels
while it was at speed, not just from off the line. She would kick that
409 down and the torque flowed potently!

Mom traded it in on a 67 Ford Country Squire with either a 427 or
428, ONLY because the 64' Impala's black vinyl seats were too hot for her on hot muggy Indiana days
without A/C! I remember burning my back and bottom on hot sunny days.
Needless to say, the Country Squire was air conditioned.

Mom rued trading the Impala SS until she traded the Country Squire for her (haul ***) 71 Pontiac
Firebird Esprit with a 350 4bbl! Needless to say, Mom liked speed!
Wonder why I like racecars huh!

My grad (Sunset high, 1967) car was a '63 SS 327. Two speed Powerglide on the console. Had it 4 months and stolen and stripped. Restored with a '64 SS interior, dash tach, factory FM W/ rear speaker, American mags, and Tiger Paws. Life was good. This isn't a picture of the actual car, but colors were identical.

Reminds me for anyone living in the New England area. Hemmings Musclepalooza is held every year in Lebanon Valley N.Y. on Memorial Day weekend. On Sunday I believe with Monday being the rain date. Plenty of restored muscle cars and drag racing. A super day indeed!!
