Several weeks ago I happen by my favorite gun store. My gun Karma was good that day. On a counter across the shop I saw the butt of an S&W revolver sticking out of a holster. The gun dealer had just bought a collection of firearms, and hadn't yet put them up for sale. I went over and checked out this little beauty, an S&W Model 15-5 with a 2" barrel. Like new, great finish. I put it on layaway right then and there. For $385, I think I did alright.

I found an old-school Tyler T grip adapter on eBay (Which are getting hard to come by since the Tyler owner suffered a heart attack and his company is in disarray and behind in orders). Here she is, six for sure with an adjustable rear sight and a ribbed HB.

I really like the 15s, and that 2" is beautiful! Nice price too! Congrats!

Great find, and a good price to boot. The snubbie model 15's shoot like a 4"er.

I had a kick myself moment when I snuzed on a deal just like yours.
Good job on not having to kick yourself.

MY two-inch Model 15 gets taken to the range more often than either of my 2.5 inch snubs an M19 and an M66.
There's just enough difference in feel to it that I often like shooting it better.

I passed on the first snubnose M15 I saw at $350 (many years ago) because I thought I'd find one cheaper. I eventually did but in the years it took to accomplish I often wished I'd bought the first one.

Nice gun.

I wonder why they never made a 2" Model 67..........

Just curious.

I do not have an explanation for it, but I have always liked the looks of the 2" 15's. Certainly the j-frames are more practical carry guns, and the 4" more suitable for accuracy work, and the fixed sight guns more rugged for hard use. I hope to trip over a good deal 15 2 inch at some point

Lovely old gun. I just picked up a much carried 4" 15-4 (somebody's ex duty pistol) to go with the 2" 15 barrel that I bought earlier this year. I couldn't find a 2" 15 at a price I wanted to pay so I am going to put one together! ;)

Thanks for the compliments.:) I erred when I wrote she is a 15-3--She's actually a 15-5.

Beautiful gun! I have one just like it. Shoots like it has a 4 inch barrel.
Nice job with the pics too. Enjoy!

Boy I like that. I have a 4 inch that I bought cheap due to three or four pits from poor storage. I love shooting 15s with wad cutters.
