Yep. Only one.

Had two for a brief moment and decided to keep the one I bought brand new decades ago.

My LGS had advertised them on SALE for $267.00. I went to pick it up and he garbles something about Browning just went up on their prices. So, I said, "see ya". New price was $312.00 and I had the SALE price in my hand.
Anyway, here is my $267.00 Hi-Power in all it's beauty.

I actually had a S&W Model 59 at the time. Sold it off and never looked back.:)

I guess you could call it a 'keeper'.:D

enjoy,

Got my one and only from Jon Jovino gun store some 40 years ago. Same place Serpico picked up his. My dad was friends with the manager and he brought out about a half dozen of them and picked the best one. Seeing that old store go belly up was a sad day. Also got my model 60 from there.

A nice HP is always ( especially now-a-days) a "keeper" as you say. And you definitely own a "keeper"; a unique model with the "beer can" rear sight. I own a mint '67 "T" series that I purchased from a forum member about 8 years ago. :)

Beautiful gun!
I bought one in 2013 from a friend who was preparing for a divorce. I asked what he wanted for it and he said $250. I knew nothing about the gun (at the time) and thought it was a good deal. Had no idea HOW good of a deal it was until months later.

He included a cleaning kit, desantis OWB holster, three grip sets, and a box of (50) fmj rounds.

Early 70s I had ( same day ) Brn HP, Colt Commander & S&W m39. What I paid for these 3 pistols wouldn’t buy anyone of them today. The only one that I can remember the tag price was the Commander and it was $99.99
the cheapest of the three. Only thing I have left is the book that came with HP.

Those '60s-'70s guns were beauties. I had several, a couple in the '70s with the "beer can" adjustable sights. Still have one HP from that era, a '66 T-series. I still take it out and shoot it once in a while. Still reliable with any and all of the many types of 9MM ammunition I've used in the gun.

I've said for years that the Browning Hi Power is one of only a handful of guns that have a soul . Maybe a 1911, M1 Garand, FN FAL, Colt Python and a Classic S&W Revolver.

While the newer striker fired polymer and alloy guns have their place and in some ways they are improvements, but I've never held one that imparted the feeling I get when I look and handle the classic Hi Power.

Same place Serpico picked up his.
Great movie! I was entranced with the BHP from that time forward.

And THAT is the exact reason I always wanted a BHP. When I discovered that my LGS had one I was RIGHT THERE!

My dad's office was down the street from the Jovino store. I used to spend time staring in the window.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.........

Beautiful specimen.

That said, I know that the original sights on pre-MkIII classic HPs are pretty much useless, but I’ve just never warmed up to the factory adjustable sight; it sticks out like a sore thumb and ruins the classic lines.

About 30 years ago on my first HP I went so far as to have a gunsmith machine a groove into the slide and do a recessed installation of an adjustable S&W revolver sight. I don’t have a picture, but it looked more elegant than the factory thing ;)

Browning Hi-Power

My first handgun was a 6" model 19, which I still own. My first pistol was a Hi-Power, a fantastic gun which has never malfunctioned in any way, at any time, with any ammunition, in 48 years. While my CCW is a 1911, I treasure the Hi-Power and often shoot it at the club range. I can never thank you enough, Mr. John Moses Browning. Your lever actions, shotguns, and machine guns were pretty good, too! Browning ... it must be flawless.

Bought my first gun there. Colt Gov't Model MkIV series 80

Mine is an 81 lightly done by C&S back in the late 80s. I remember it was about $200 for reliability polish, matte top, Novak sights and extended safety. I’m sure it would be at least triple that today. Ive always loved the look of the stock red back grips but I finally broke down last year and decided I wanted a bit more function over beauty. The Lok grip ridgebacks are near perfect texture and thinner than stock. And it only took me 2 weeks to decide on the OD green. color. Still not sure if I should have gotten a different color.
