My Only 1911; Taurus PT1911

Unfortunately, what I don't have in my collection is several 1911 pistols. I only have one, the full size Taurus PT1911 in .45 ACP. It's pictured here with Stoner CNC G10 grips cut for the Taurus frame and ambi safety. This is a good shooter, purchased in 2014.

Taurus makes a good 1911. It comes with many of the features seen on premium 1911s and the newer models have such minimalist slide markings that I've repeatedly mistaken PT1911s for Kimbers at a glance based on the silhouette.

I don't own one myself, (yet) but I've owned a Taurus Judge Magnum since 2017 as well as a brand new PT92 AFS-D, and so far the brand hasn't let me down.

I have had one for years and love it. It's my fourth or fifth 1911 I've owned over the years, and I don't think I've liked any of them better than the Taurus. Last year I bought another one in 9mm.

Mine is SS and in 38 Super. Got a 9mm barrel and had the GS make interchangeable.

I bought a new PT 1911 over 10 years ago. It is a range piece that I and others in my extended family enjoy.

Here's a picture of my PT1911. It's new in the box, only taken out for photos. Bought this one at Cabela's in Fort Worth in 2010 on Thanksgiving on Black Friday. That won't happen again. Absolute madness that day because of all the sales going on.
This gun came with the Walnut grips and black composite grips also and 2 magazines.

I have a PT1911 in 45acp... if I close my eyes it is hard to tell it apart from my first generation Kimber target stainless.. got the Taurus when they were less than $500 new... fantastic pistol... enjoy yours.
