After watching Clint Eastwood's "The Enforcer", I seriously considered buying a 2-1/2" snubby Diamondback like Harry's partner Inspector Moore (Tyne Daly) carried and used in the film.

I only have one Colt revolver.. it was my late father's sometimes carry.. the mid seventies lightweight version, the Agent.. with factory hammer shroud.. but a few Colt 1911's too so it doesn't get lonely..

Third or 4th issue don't recall.
Strapped with some older Colt stocks.
Fits my hand great.

...is a New Police in .38 S&W that I got from my father that he got from his father. It works well, but has a cracked spring so it's a wall hanger.

viceunit, I think you'll like it.I still have mine that I got when I went on the job in 1974.If you have a chance try one of the old Cobras like the ones Lee Marvin carried on M SQUAD and maybe even the Agent.Congratulations.

Robvious, my father also had an Agent as a carry piece. It “got gone” at some point, but through to patience I was eventually able to find a similar vintage with the shroud, as well as a vintage T Grip, both right here on the forum. It’s not his, but it’s nice to have “reconfigured “ his.

I have had 3 Det. Specials. The 1st one I bought when I was hired by Elyria PD. Paid $85.00 and tax. Foolishly traded it.
2nd one cost me a lot more and I sold that one also.
The 3rd one I have now and will not sell it. You made a good choice Vice Unit.
