My perfect revolver

Didn't know 64 came with pencil barrel. Actually never thought of it. Only ever seen model 10 like that. Is that a newer cylinder release?

Nothing better than the pencil barrel. . .my favorite. I've got the old stainless 38 in a 4 inch barrel that I bought new back in 1980. You couldn't find the stainless guns back then. Unfortunately, mine has the giant heavy barrel which I hate; but, back then, when you saw a stainless Smith, you bought it.

I have seen a couple of those posted over the years.. Can't say as I disagree with you.

It is a later production gun, a couple dashes back, that I had an older standard/pencil barrel installed. K frame perfection, stainless, round butt and now the slimmer tapered barrel.

The 64 standard barrel was a Grail gun for me until
I got it. It was poorly constructed and it has gone to another home.

Funny thing, discussing K frames and perfect guns. I think of my 2" Model 10s as perfect. However, my 4" Model 10, standard* barrel, worn nickel, marked Wells Fargo, is such a perfectly accurate shooter it is hard to gainsay that revolver as being perfect. It's an amazing weapon.

I have 64s, too, they happen to heavy barrels, and I have an incredible M10 HB in .357 Magnum, but that old Wells Fargo gun is really something. Perfect. I guess....

*Some folks will whip you with a wet noodle if you say "pencil" barreled. Jus' sayin'...

Not to take away from the classic K frame theme of this thread, but it would have to be one of these.

As far as I know my perfect doesn't exist. It would be a 4" Performance Center 686+ with a full lug barrel!:D
