My Pistol Brace Decision...

If Congress is banning something that has been highly regulated since 1934, we've probably got much worse problems to deal with.

Congress didn't write the ban on stabilizing braces. There's no reason to believe they would go through Congress for an SBR ban. And yes, we have much worse problems to deal with.

I thought about doing it, but I didn't want to raise my hand and say to the ATF "hey, look at me, I am one of those gun nuts you hate so much".

Same reason I haven't convinced myself to get a supressor yet. I am still on the fence..

I like that except that I already have two NFA taxed (and therefore registered?) items so I was perfectly willing to do it a third time. My FFL, who built the AR pistol for me, and who happens to be a dear friend, simply refused to allow it - you know how persuasive good friends can be. He re-engineered it back to its original form and told me to await the courts' determination.

Since we are such good friends I permitted myself to be convinced.

But it took awhile.............

The funny part is that he turned this potential felony into a taxed and legal NFA item in an amazingly easy way:

So I kind of owed him one.

NFA item number 2:

So you can see why I was unconcerned with having a third. But I surrendered to my buddy's pleas and supplications. :D

Your choice & decision sir. Listen to my friends advice with exception of retired ATF agent. Item #1...looks to be 'wallet' pistol? Picture small. If you will what makes this an NFA firearm if you will share

Appears to be a High Standard Derringer tucked into a wallet holster.

It is considered an NFA AOW item as it can be fired when it does not readily appear to be a firearm. *insert shoulder shrug*

Check the link below and see if you can decipher it your self.

26 USC Ch. 53: MACHINE GUNS, DESTRUCTIVE DEVICES, AND CERTAIN OTHER FIREARMS

Several of the firearm laws such as that really make no logical sense to why they are even a thing. The lawmakers at the time likely had no clue about firearms and it seemed scary to them so they thought regulating was a good idea. Funny, things that are on the NFA list in the US are perfectly legal in the very restrictive firearms countries such as Canada and England.
