I just returned from picking up my #63 which I bought damaged back in September. It looked like it had hit the road, hard. There was asphalt in the scratches and gouges. The cylinder was difficult to open/close, the gun would not cock, it was disgusting. I took pity on it and brought it home. Now I am glad I did.

Glad it worked out for you. One of those life lessons for someone that begins, "guess I shouldn't oughta' done that . . ." :p

I drove off one time from filling the cooler with ice after having laid my check book on the step bumper of the truck. I was lucky, some honest soul dropped it into the night-deposit box at the bank after retrieving it from the middle of the road where several checks displayed obvious tire tracks . . .

Resurrected Mod. 63

Looks mighty good now, you mind sharing the name of the place where this repair took place? The only minor problem I can see from the photos is that they seemed to turn the stocks black while they had it. Yea, I'm joshing, I like the rubbers for shooting also, they are just not as purdy!

I sent her back to the factory. A technician named Gene repaired it for me. I like wood over rubber too, so I put a set of Herrett's stocks on the #63.

$120.00 plus some change for the damaged #63, $8.00 shipping to S&W, $115.63 (give or take a few pennies) for repairs and return shipping...I hope I didn't get taken.

I have been looking for a holster...gunleather is right expensive these days. I believe I will pay as much for a holster as I did for the gun.
