My Sad .40 Shield Story...

The fact that you are going to make money when you resell the gun should ease your aggravation. The fact that S&W can't seem to make them fast enough should indicate that maybe your opinions are in the minority, so you can expect some counterpunches. I don't come over to this forum and expect other S*W-blue-bleeding folks like me to agree with me on everything.
Now, tell us how the Glock 27, however, is indeed the greatest gun in the entire world..JUST JOKING!!! JUST JOKING!!!

.... and the absolutely user-unfriendly, unintuitive, asinine, fragile yellow sear disconnector which requires a "tool" be inserted through the breech and fiddled around with to actuate the sear disconnector for takedown. (A real field-friendly maneuver, huh?)

What have the designers been "on" at Smith & Wesson???

As a very experienced shooter of S&W's (and other major brands) for decades; a championship combat pistol and revolver shooter; a former LEO and armorer; a S&W dealer for 25 years; and, a gun-lover for fifty years, I think I can judge a poorly designed pistol when I see & hold one.

....

The above portion sums this posters thoughts or motives up well.

It takes a new S&W M&P owner less than a day to figure out they can takedown the pistol by pulling the trigger. Yellow lever is optional. No S&W expert would ignore this aspect or fail to do this with the M&P Shield. I have never had a S&W pistol until a month ago, so about the furthest from an expert on S&W as you can get, yet I found out this trigger method just by fiddling with the pistol in the first hour of ownership. I smell troll. He knows the lever is not needed based on his stated experience, yet trashes the lever anyway. To me, this alone tosses all his credibility out the window. Had he not called himself an "expert", then perhaps this could have been believable.
