My solution to high gas prices.
Since I've retired I have driven more "running around" for/with my wife-so no relief for me!
I do a lot of traveling, go to events, and do nice things with my girlfriend which takes a bit of money. If I was retired and had more time to do those kinds of things it would take a LOT of money...and I would run out then have to go back to work forever.

Hell, I just siphon out of my wife's SUV
My commute was 17 miles each way, the commute to the trail head so I can go ride my bike is 2 miles. I also plan on doing a lot of walking, no commute required. I would like to get rid of about 50 lbs. My job didn't lend itself to eating healthy and a lot of waiting for someone else to get their part done. It will probably take me several weeks to get my tools organized.

Now that the weather is getting warmer...
Today, the "MiniWally" up the block had gas $3.89.9, the rest were $4.06.9. Line was substantial to save that $2/tank. I have filled up the Frontier 3X (usually 10-12 gal) since I got it early February. Longest trip is out to the range 30 mi each way. Retirement solves many problems. Joe

Once on the Spanish Island of Majorca I ran out of gas in a rented scooter.
Now what do I do?.
I hear a car coming..it's gets closer. It looks familiar.
OMG! It's a Model A. The driver gets out and I point and say out of gas!
He gets out an Arkansas Credit Card. Where does a Spaniard get one of those?
He siphons me some gas and tells me to pooka - pooka on my 2 Cycle Scooter.
And of course he wouldn't take any money.
Good Old Boys Worldwide help people without any expectations of being paid.

We have a WINNER!!!
The way the wind has been blowing around here lately if you had much sail you could sail over the overpass.
Larrylooks like someone drove over your bike with a big truck, and a kid learning welding tried to fix it.
I really don't care anymore about things I can only change every couple years, like voting, but win or lose, I'll buy the gas. It's the last 1/4 of my life...IDC!

But isn't the price of oats going up too?
One of the reasons I retired. Getting rid of that 450 miles per week commute made it possible for me to retire 6 years ago.

I LOVE RETIREMENT!
Happened just in time for me too, but I do like to cruise the ol' gas guzzler into town every now and then.
Most of the rest of my time I spend in front of my TV just relaxing or something.
Best car/truck/guitar color of all time.

Quitting work was so much fun, i went back to work so i could do it again. Thankfully twice was enough.

Just realized that as of March 29, I've owned that thing 27 years!
Guy I bought it from said his teenage daughter picked out the color.
I get lots of complements on that color, but personally I would have prefered darker blue.
Guess I ain't going to change it anytime soon though, being retired and feeding that thing Premium gas, even on occasion, cuts into my ammo purchases.
I go where I want, prices notwithstanding. Can't take it with you.
