Fini Flight, Davis-Monthan AFB, Home of the WartHawg.

He just retired as the Commander of the 47th Fighter Squadron and is retiring from the AF after 4 tours in Afghanistan. There were probably hundreds of photos taken but I took this one right after he taxied in. A fun time was had by all.

Please tell your son, I thank him for his service!!

My favoritest plane....

Designed to do an uncompromising job really well and the fact they have haven't got a good replacement for it tells novels. For coming up on 50 years.

Another reason I think it's great is that if you are on the ground and see one it's probably that last thing that you'll ever see and you will be fertilizer.

Hat's off to your son for flying that Hawg.

(I wonder if I can get a demilled A-10 an put it on display in my front yard)

All the Best to both of you. That would be a sad day to not be able to fly that one any more. Oh well, here's to the future!

He said he was not going to cry but I'm not sure if he pulled that off.

He did this pic several years ago with the 75th FS (direct descendants of the AVG Flying Tigers).
