Here is my Thanksgiving present to myself...a 4516-1. Got it from a local guy off GB for $425...came with two mags, soft case and a Bianchi holster. Had to show a picture of it with it's big brother...my 645 transitional.
Nice pair of .45s--those Smiths are tough to beat! I like a good 1911 as much as the next guy, but if the chips are ever down, I'd reach for a Smith .45 every time.
I have not had time to get to the range...but I love the feel of the 4516. The previous owner put on the slip on Pachmayr grip...and it really helps as I have big hands.
It is a chunk of metal and heavy...but that's what I love about it.
