Last Saturday morning, at 0325, I lost my 47 year old wife, friend and soulmate. Today, we begin the first visitation - the first step on Kathy's last earthly journey. Kathy died following a decade long battle with Cancer and while her last weeks were filled with torture and agony, she faced them with dignity and without complaint. I am thankful that she did not suffer longer. I am thankful for the fortitude and companionship of our 23 year old daughter, Meghann. I am thankful for the hundreds-upon-hundreds of cards, flowers and visitors she had in her last month.

Be thankful, not for the material things, but, rather for the love of family and friends. Be thankful that God has granted you these gifts. Hold them close to you, for it is they that are, truly, your and God's treasures.

May each and every one of you have a blessed Thanksgiving and may you say a little prayer of thanks for those in harm's way who serve to protect and defend.

I am deeply saddened to hear this. My next door neighbor died yesterday too.

I pray that you and your family and Margo and her girls have the strength to carry you through the days ahead.
Ask the Lord for help, he's always there when we need him.

The Lord takes people into his hand and heart for reasons we can't know. We just have to believe He has a job for them in mind and they are with him and serving him with joy and peace.

JP-As you know words can't express properly the sadness that's felt over your loss. I can't begin to imagine what you must be going through after so long a relationship. I've lost Mom, Dad, brother, treasured pets and now am alone with my dog so, I can feel just a little of how you must feel.

All too often most of us take relationships and today for granted believing we can plan for tomorrow, next week, a year from now not knowing we may have a mere hour left here. As Cesar Millan always says, "live in the moment." That's all we're promised. May the peace of God encompass you today and I for you to feel his presence and loving arms as you struggle with this strife. We have this treasure in broken vessels.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss of your partner. May God bless and comfort you and your family.

We leave on Kathy's final earthly journey this morning and by high noon it will be done...

Consummatum est...

Judging from JP's post, God has already given him amazing strength. I only wish I have that kind of strength if this were to happen to me. My deepest condolences. Prayers for your wife in heaven and for you and your daughter through this tough time JP.

I am just now reading some of the latest posts that I've missed. This one touched me. Your prayer needs nothing added. You have me heartfelt sympathy and also my prayers for strength and encouragement. Know that Kathy is now in a far better place and free of all pain and suffering. Be strong, for you and Kathy shall one day be together again. God bless.
