OK, by now most know how attached I was and still am-to my deceased Cat, Shasta. Ive told good portions of her story and wil try to finish it here today.

I went to another vets office this past Wednesday-because I heard that Dr Garrett--was a great vet (long story short-I AM very impressed with my fact-finding visit with him and can easily see he really cares about peoples little furry friends-unlike the ones I took Shasta too) and I wanted to find out a few things.

First off, I'm not one to usually complain about things-but in asking questions-other things came out.

I didn't have Sandy with me to get her treated for anything yet-but will in Dec-her first 2 shots.

This Dr took important time out of his way-to speak with me for 40 minutes!!! on anything and everything I could think of-to ask-or to tell about.

First--I did tell him what happened at that animal hospital where Shasta (and others) were neglected and mistreated) and he nodded his head as he's heard from others who have had problems with the same place. He couldn't openly say anything in agreement for liability and professional reasons-which I fully understand.

Anyway, ive mentioned here before that I thought and inside KNEW-Shasta's death was suspicious at best-listing what i'd figured had happened. Either she had a heart-attack by being surrounded by barking dogs-or the two vets had given her the drug to put her under without MY PERMISSION.

Knowing what I knw now--no test could be made (unless blood was taken from Shasta's heart and preserved immediately after) -to show that they had given her a lethal injection to put her under. I had thought-as with humans-that hair samples could be used to determine what drugs were in a person-but in animals-apparently only if the hair had roots and only if the hair samples had been immediately preserved. Those two ""vets"" fully knew I would have no way to prove what they did.

The vet I saw on Wed-confirmed what I did know about Cats. I grew up with cats-have had quite a few, and I had many that died. I do know-that rigor-mortis sets in immediately-or very quickly. When these ""vets"" called me the day Shasta ""died in her sleep"" I was about to leave to go visit her and it was 10Am in the morning. They said she had died over night. Even before I saw this other vet--I fully knew that cats stiffen very quick and that these ""vets and staff"" were lying through their teeth about Shasta's death.

As you can tell, I'm still peeved as hell about it and mostly that Shasta-suffered because of these two $%^^&**(!!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad:

Ill skip the details on how they neglected to tell me the proper methods of dealing with diabetes. They did tell me how much med to use and how often--but now HOW to handle the med.

Shasta--I hope you did indeen forgive me for entrusting your trust, and life-into the hands of so many creless jerks. Had I know that Dr Garrett was around--you would have bene in his care.

More on Dr Garrett.

In his place--if one has to leave a cat or dog--they are indeed kept in different rooms--unlike at the place I left Shasta. The other place had a smell to it when you walked in-Dr Garretts place-didn't have such a stench. His staff were professional-the staff at the other place-depending who you dealt with could be professional-to VERY unprofessional.

Someone is bound to ask why I took Shasta there? well, its because at the time, before I knew how heartless these two twits were, I thought Shasta was in good hands-and I had not yet heard of Dr Garrett. Others vets around town are just as expensive as this place-or even more so. Dr Garrett--I think, has very decent prices on what I asked about. For example: I told them the price those two twits I took Shasta to-charged my $135 to have her blood tested--he said he did his for $65. Another example was for a shot I took Shasta there for-which was SUPPOSED to be for her reoccurring UTI--they gave her a shot for something unrelated-which cost me $125!!!!!!

I cant remember what else I was going to say, but that I needed to get this off my chest. I dislike using the word rant-on anything.

BTW, I'm planning on getting together with a couple of others who have had VERY bad situations with the same vets as I have-and then we all will be sending in our complaints to the Texas State agency who investigates veterinary clinics and such.

Sorry to hear about your loss, and your experiences with questionable vets. I had to go through a couple of vets before I found my current one. It's kind of like finding a good people doctor, some just don't cut it and you have to search around. Sounds like you found a good one. Long and happy life with your new furry companion. ;)

Thank you sir, I like this guy and I like the fact that he took 40 minutes of his time to tell me all I asked about and then some. The other vets I rarely got more than 2-3 minutes with and even then-I had to speak to their backs.
