My Ugliest N-Frame

Not due to abuse, but probably more because of utility in being carried,
this Highway Patrolman (N59883) won't win any beauty contests.
But, I've wanted one for a while and there just aren't too many around, these days.

On a good note: the bore and chambers are bright and pretty and the lockup is excellent.

I won’t feel bad about tucking it into my waistband at 4 o’clock, IWB holster or not.

A Model 28, for me, is a comfort handgun. I have owned four, two of each barrel length, that have all been fantastic shooters.

The weight, feel and accuracy wrapped in a utilitarian finish with the grips of your choice provides for a super lifetime handgun.

Looks like about a 1972. Nothing wrong with that example or the grips on it. They used to be plentiful, now not so much, and they have doubled in price. People tend to hoard them

Ugly is not the right term to use at all.

This is the mint in box model 28-2 I bought last year for the princely sum of 600 dollars. She is the nicest one I have ever seen outside a truly new in box and unfired specimen.

This gun was made between 75 and 77 and sat unloved for over 40 years. Your gun on the other hand shows love. It was used, maintained, and came across her wear honestly.

There is no shame in owning a loved gun with honest wear. They are beauties in their own right.
