My wait for Shield 40 is Over

This morning at about 9:45 a.m. I got a call from Guns & Leather my local gun store and they said that my M&P Shield 40, I told them I would be at their store tomorrow afternoon to pick up my new Shield. Wow so far this store has received 5 Shields 3 9 mm and two 40's and I was number two on the list so tomorrow I will pick it up and will definitely be shooting it this weekend!

Well I do have to work Saturday but plan on going to the range right after I get off work also Sunday and hopefully Monday as I will be off with pay that day! Probably will shoot at least 200 rounds with my M&P 40C and the Shield and if I get my 40 fullsize back from the gunsmith!

The wait was ever since the Shield came out on April 16 about 5 weeks ago! This is when I told the gun store I wanted one in 40 caliber when they came out!

Just got home from the gun store with my new Shield 40 and noticed that the test fire date was 5-15-2012 just ten days ago and so on its second month it will also my my wife's birthday.
Will be breaking it down and inspecting as well as cleaning it tonight and then after work tomorrow will be at the range with it, as well as Sunday and Monday!

Wow that is nice. Just 10 days ago. When I got mine it was 14 days old. Enjoy and be safe.

Just called my LGS for the umteenth time expecting them to say, Nope havent got any more in. BUT to my surprise he said he had a 40 cal sitting on the counter. Put my name on it. Picking it up sat morning. MAN! I never thought I would get one. Im just giddy.

Just finished cleaning and inspecting it and then customized it a little with Nail Polish as I do to all my weapons!

Funny it seems that now they are really letting these things go all over the place and no I did not get the greatest price in the world, it was $429.00 plus $10 background check plus $39.68 for a sales tax for out the door at $478.68

That looks great. My Cousin did his in a weird bronze color that looks great as well...

I' get right to going over the gun with non acetone nail polish remover right now then thanks, my eyes are getting old any way!

Not a problem. I had to put my glasses on to make sure it wasn't the flash. Looks great!

Mine was also 14 days from Test Fire to My Hand. I wonder just how long these unusually short Shelf Spans will continue.

I usually tell people over on the Kel-Tec forum that PF-9s don't stay on the shelf longer than 1 or 2 Months from manufacture date and it looks like it's going to be even LESS for the Shield.

Either call or go back they seem to be getting more all the time, do not give up I didn't and now I have it I feel it was a real accomplishment and of course it went to work with me along with my 40Compact but soon when I get a proper holster my 40Compact will be a back up gun!
