My wife vs horror story

I doubt many of y'all would enjoy watching movies with me.

I've had them scare me pretty good, but never had one keep me from sleeping.

I love a good horror movie.

The Birds was pretty bad. I worked as a projectionist at a theater while in high school when Jaws was released. It was fun sitting in the booth looking down on the peoples reaction during certain times in the movie. It changed the way people acted at the beach here in Florida for a while. Kept the girls out of the water on our weekend beach parties.

The Tingler….
I was a horror movie fan from way back and got into doing special effects and worked on a few basement budget movies.
'Bout 30 years ago I won a "Creature Feature" co-host contest and the movie I co-hosted was "The Tingler" as Wayne the werewolf.
This is a still from the set.

Because of my experience with special effects, when I see a movie like "The Exorcist," I spend more time trying to figure out how they did that than getting creeped out.

I bought the soundtrack as soon as it hit the streets: "Tubular Bells" by Mike Oldfield.

I loved the music and never went to see the movie for fear it would ruin the music for me.

Finally saw it in the early 2000s. Horrible. I still like the music.

Mercedes McCambridge did the devil's voice in the movie and came to my high school to give a speech... was freaky when this lovely old lady that looked like Mrs Doubtfire at 5 foot nothing shifted into the "voice".. could feel the room shiver in unison... unnerving..

Exorcist

I was a senior in high school. Went with 3 of my buddies to see it. First showing sold out so we sat in the car drinking beer and applejack then went in to see the next show. I was drunk. I thought it was real. I was scared beyond scared. I still can't watch horror movies to this day. Jaws was no problem even though every dive mission on the Police Dept dive team the theme music was constantly playing in my head….. and when you bumped into something under water … oh boy

I was young when I first saw Rosemary's Baby Now it looks silly but then it was creepy. I went to see Last House on the Left when I got home and couldn't watch it.

Silence of the lambs. When I was a Paramedic had to visit the state happy home that had a creepy real cannibal locked up we had to deal with a couple times. He was in solitary all the time.. 2nd worst place we had to go was Jessup Prison. The men's prison was bad. The women's prison was infinitely worse. Didn't let the women get up close and personal..except for the patient we had to visit with. Guards and hand and leg cuffs were our friends:eek:
