my wifes first cc gun

My wife's favorite gun so far is a Sigma 9mm but is this the gun she carries, no. Her carry is a J Frame airweight that only has 5 shots and too much recoil. Why, because it is very easy to carry, a decent caliber and very reliable.

That is kind of dangerous. A gun with too much recoil for the shooter means that the shots may not go were they need to be. I used to have and carry my Kel Kec P11 until I was really training hard with it and notice that the recoil was making my follow up shots very hard to do and was making it slower. That was when I picked up my M&P9c and the rest is history.

I guess I should have been a little more detailed by saying "too much recoil for the range". 50 shots will wear your thumb out but cranking off 5 or 10 with the J frame, she's accurate within a 5" circle at 3 yards and 10" at 7 yards.

My wife has interest in getting the Charter Arms Pink Lady.

Looked at the Charter originally for my wife since she loves pink but went with the S&W 642 since the $50 rebate made it only $25 more than the Charter. Did get her factory pink grips though.

When my wife and I were shopping for guns several years ago she had her mind set on getting a Sig because her police friends recommended them. We made a trip to the GS/range and test fired everything they had in the rental case. Both of us came away with love for the Kahr brand...she now carries a P9, me a T9. Both single stack DAO pistols that are extremely easy to conceal and shoot great.

SWMBO's carry round is Federal 38G (.38spl +P 158gr LSWCHP) in her Rossi 351, but in her infinite wisdom, only her first 5 and last 5 (or so) at the range are 38G's.
Between the two, she shoots milder rounds, unless she is actually practicing SD. Then it is the full power stuff and a shorter session at the range. (I run a cylinder of FMJs and a BoreSnake through it and wipe it down before it is reloaded with 38Gs and put back in her carry purse, but she cleans it better when we get home)

Her favorite practice/plinking round is a 148gr HBWC over 2.6gr of Bullseye and can usually keep her groups within a 2" circle at 7yds with them.
With 38Gs, the circle expands to ~4" at 7yrds, but she's working on reducing it. ;);)

She had owned and shot a BDA 380 for years, but for simplicity and reliability (and being a southpaw) as well as wanting a little more oomph, she decided on a .38 all steel snubbie revolver. Before reaching this conclusion, she had tried a Beretta Tomcat (.32acp - tip-up barrel - DA/SA - Laser sights), but the ejected cases dropped on her head and down her blouse and she tried my S&W 637 Airweight, which had too much recoil for her liking with standard ammo.

She had some control/accuracy issues with the Rossi at first, so she went back to the basics. Start low and work up to it. Commercial cowboy loads, wadcutters, you name it, she tried it. Then I started reloading ammo for her rather than going broke buying factory made ammo and eventually got her reloading for herself. :D
She doesn't reload very much, but at least I know she can do it if she had to.

Marcia now shoots a snubbie better than I do, which really isn't saying much. :o
All I did was stay out of the way and nudged a little here and there, but mostly the former rather than the latter. ;)
Above all, I let her know how much I enjoy having the love of my life share something I enjoy doing.
