Just ordered a Bianchi 5 BHL lined holster for my 28-2 4". A little late, but any experience with these?

Great holster for the field. Not too good for concealed carry because they stick out too far.

That was my duty holster for a number of years and I still have it. It is an excellent field holster as well.

As with all holsters, they are only as good as the belt that you put them on. An N-frame si a heavy gun; consider buying the matching Bianchi belt.

I have one but I never use it. The very high ride and forward tilt makes
it very awkward when worn on my pants belt. For field use it really
needs to be worn on a seperate sturdy belt. It is not a concealment
holster in my opinion. Typical Bianchi good quality but I prefer some of
their other designs like the old md 10 with a strap or the Cyclone.

You got a good using holster.

After trying a some various ones over the years, I sprung for a new custom made shoulder holster from Black Hills for Christmas.

I got it complete with all their bells, whistles, and top work with the carving too. It truly is the best that I have ever had in terms of fit, function , build quality and overall appearance. It is the ticket for the big N frames like my 29s and 27s. It holds them sturdy , out of the way, and comfortably too.

With the rig of course you can just order a separate holster for a shorter or longer barreled revolver or pistol.

Which reminds me that I need one for my new 28. :)

In 1979 my Dad helped me get my first handgun, a 6" Colt Python. I used it as my duty weapon in private security. My first holster was a Bianchi model 5BH unlined. The only reason I switched was to match what the local police were wearing, a Bianchi 27 Breakfront. I still have both holsters and the Python. The 5BH lined or unlined is a top notch holster.

One thing that you will not hear with the holster you just bought,"my holster is nicer than yours!" I have owned several 5BHLs, well made, lined well, durable.

I have one for my 29-2 4". I like it as a BBQ gun holster if you will, but for field use, I much prefer the Galco DAO which has a covered trigger.

I have a 5BHL and I like it a lot, but as others have said it is a kind of bulky holster and does not hug the body. Great field holster.

. . . I prefer some of their other designs like the old md 10 with a strap or the Cyclone.

I have one of the old 10s, black w/basketweave. It's one of my favorites.
