Upon looking at several sources it appears that manufacturers are making one replacement mainspring for use in K, L, and N frame revolvers. I used one of these replacements in an old pre-Model 27, and it appeared to be shorter than the mainspring I took out. I really would like to have the correct factory parts, but my questions are did the older N frames use a different spring than the 1960-current guns, and do the "one size fits all" springs work satisfactorily? Thanks.
