Here are some new old stock N frame custom target stocks in their original (although shop-worn) boxes.
Since the boxes don't list model numbers, they have to be at least circa 1960.
1 set of N frame Herrett's Shooting Stars
$80 shipped.
I have 6 (now 5) sets of the following Jay Scott N thumb rest targets. All are new in their (shelf-worn) boxes. These would be the same vintage as the Herrett's based on lack of model numbers.
These were made while Colt owned Jay Scott (note address info on box). They aren't the later cheap, faux junk of the later years. They're quality checkered walnut.
$80 each shipped.
These are the same as above, but were sold unfinished in the rough.
I have 3 sets. They could be turned into Roper or Sanderson style copies. The hardest work is already done.

I'm finally finding some time to list a few sets that I don't need.
I'll start with some pre-war N's.
I would call all of these very good shooter grade.
All are factory except the two sets as noted.
Most of them were restored by me when I was learning how to checker and experimenting with various repair methods. Thankfully I've gotten much better at matching grain with splices and making my own sawdust fillers. The ones I refinished are done with several light coats of hand-rubbed Danish oil in an attempt to match the original sheen.
All sets include the screw.

Set A: SOLD
Pre-war N frame magna's. This was a very rough mis-matched set (only one rear washer has the pat info). The stamped serial appears to be 57341 but could be 52341.
These took extensive work and taught me a ton. They're 'good shooter'. After building up the missing wood, I pointed the checkering.

Set B:
Early 'between the wars' N frame convex service grips.
Again, lightly restored by me. They aren't meant to look perfect. They're meant to match a high shooter condition gun. I recut the checkering, filled any large chips and finished similar to factory. Has '222' penciled on the back, which makes no sense for a SN from that time period.

Circa 1910-1919 N 'deep dish gold tone medallion' grips. Recut and refinished by me. A couple stains and a couple spices.

This was a quality repro set of smooth 1917 grips. I checkered them in the late pre-WW2 style and installed a set of repro large pre-war medallions I had made. Not perfect, but very, very good.

Similar to above. A practice set I checkered years ago on quality repro 1917 grips.
If you've ever tried checkering on blank walnut canvas, you know what it takes to get the boarder, corners and rounds perfect. This is a very respectable facsimile.

Original convex WW1 style 1917 grips. I haven't touched these. I just have more than I ever expect to need. They show light use with a few small chips and presses. Stamped SN looks like 205471 but that's too high to be correct for WW1. These could have come from a later commercial 1917?

Original early concave WW1 style 1917. These show wear as expected, with some small chips and presses. Not sure what's going on behind the right side escutcheon. It isn't broken through. It's still in place and works as intended. No idea why someone would slightly relieve the area behind it.
