I was thinking Blue Racer.
I think Rat Snakes and Blue Racers are two different snakes, but look similar.
Never actually learned to tell them apart!

Given what looks like a triangular shape of the head, around here it'd be a dead snake. Maybe, very faint memory is suggesting blue racer if there's such a thing. Ah, gent above beat me to it.
Snake just above is similar enough to a copperhead to be really dead, really fast.

He's about seven feet long.
I think I spoke a few words in French when I walked-up on him.
He was about 30 yards from the Duck Pond. Moccasins like the Duck Pond.

Something from the Gopher Snake family. The Great Basin and Sonoran Gopher snakes have heads exactly the same shape.

I caught his cousin a few years ago trying to go under our house. Relocated him to the woods. Not aggressive at all.

I have these snakes in my yard all the time. Black racer, indigo racer, whatever. They are harmless. Spook it and it will outrun you. A moccasin is a slug in comparison. Good for keeping vermin in check. Point is--nonvenomous. Leave it be.
In Texas, the Indigo snakes are valuable because they eat rattlesnakes (as well as any other critter they can get in their mouth.)
