Name That Snake

bamabiker's is a kingsnake of some variety. Not sure about Nasty Nate's species, but I do know he's not venomous (and kind of purty),

The only snakes I ever terminated on a regular basis were snakes who moved into my chicken house.
When I was a Wee Laddy, I raised chickens. Snakes that moved into my chicken house tended to stay.
I generally used a hoe, pulled them from their hidey holes and chopped off their heads.

We had this "little" fellow join the BBQ last summer. Doubt that the cats would like it if it got in the house. Wife loves snakes " non poisonous", so she took him out by the barn.

often getting more solid toward a mostly black as they get older, eat rodents, small birds, they will eat eggs, once pulled a large one out of a wood duck nesting box with ten eggs in it

We've found them in hanging baskets where song birds have nested. They climb very well and like eggs.

The girl next door was watering her hanging basket plants and let out a blood curdling scream. Quigley and I came to the rescue. Caught the snake and released him in the woods.

Moving to FL was an awaking when it came to Gators, Snakes, Bears, Panthers, Bobcats, giant Turtles, Armadillos and more. So far we have had a 5 foot Rattle Snake in my yard, two Coral Snakes, a slew of non venomous Black Racers and a few that I have no idea what type they were. I have gotten pretty good at doing "hockey style" slap shots with the pool net on the pole - my method of getting them out of the pool, lanai and yard. Still....... I'd rather deal with natural animals here than the two legged type up North.
