The UAW is in a pickle now. They have to decide whether to operate in a way that helps the workers that they ostensibly exist to benefit, or do they operate for themselves? It used to be that when they got more money for the workers, the revenue to the union went up. Now any pay raises the workers get will reduce corporate profits, which means lower dividends to the shareholders, theoretically reducing revenue to the union.
