It’s National Fried Chicken Day! Today we honor a finger-licking American favorite. To make this flavorful delight, smother a piece of chicken in batter and fry it. The result is a savory treat that’s crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Yum! :)

Well, what do you know, had fried chicken today for the first time in months but didn't know it was actually Fried Chicken Day. Maybe I am clairvoyant.

There's never a day that it's not OK to have fried chicken! That and chicken fried steak are the two best foods known to man.

Speaking of Fried Chicken-I saw a commercial for Kentucky Fried Chicken the other day. Has a black guy cooking some fried chicken and the quote was " I loves me some fried chickens." How can they get away with that??????????
Oh and as far as fried chicken and chicken fried steak-I think one should alternate. MWSat Chicken Fried Steak, Sun T Th Fried Chicken. Fridays is fried catfish day for us good catholics:D

What? It's 8:00 and now you tell us? Well, it's Monday morning now, I will atone for not eating fried chicken yesterday. I would like to say how sorry I am to all the cooks in Kentucky, who know how to make good fried chicken. That nasty bucket has truly slandered your reputation.

I'm Southern Baptist, not Catholic...but I love fried catfish, especially when fileted into thin pieces and fried crispy.

Around these parts, the KFCs do a $2.99, 2 piece special w biscuit and corn "half-cob"! Its a great deal and I almost forgot about it!

Might be worth goin out in the heat, they only do it on Mondays!

My mother made absolutely extraordinary fried chicken.
The first time that I had Kentucky fried chicken, all I could think of was
' is this what them folks up in Kentucky think is fried chicken?'
We need to make up some chicken Frying missionary Teams and send them up to Kentucky.
Then I found out we actually got the KFC from a weirdo in a white suit.
A few years ago I went into the KFC in Raton, NM.
Their grease trap had backed up and it smelled really bad.
It was several years before I could go into one again. I probably did sneak into the drive through.

Thanks for your concern, from somebody who does damn good fried chicken. Tennessee-born, but have lived in Kentucky most of my life. I can assure you that KFC (which I eat on rare occasions, but only the extra crispy) is in no way typical of real Kentucky fried chicken.

Does stir fry count?
We just cooked up a big pot of hot chicken curry for supper.

Hold on there- you aren't making the correct curry.
You want to make Thai Curry. They have red, yellow and green.
I must refer the red. It is great with chicken.
The thing to remember about curry is, there ain't no such a thing.
Curry is a mixture of spices. I occasionally eat the Indian style at Indian Restaurants, and it's okay.
And I much prefer the Thai style. I eat it at restaurants and also make it at home. Like most Southeast Asian food, it calls for the Fermented fish oil.
Be careful with that stuff. A little nab will do you!

Shoulda, I don't think the Col.'s is representative of fried chicken anywhere in this country. Maybe England, but they would have only used 2 spices. I'd bet that Irish boys in New York City can make better chicken than KFC, by a long way.

Sanders is buried in Cave Hill Cemetery here--big white monument with a life-sized statue of the "Colonel". My theory is that it's not marble. I think it was cast in KFC mashed potatoes. If stomach acid can't dissolve that stuff, acid rain will have no chance at all.

I'm in...
But no KFC, to me its just gross.

I'll take Popeyes chicken any day if the week. If I remember correctly Bojangles in the mid south had good chicken.

Buffalo Wild Wings is great also.
