I heard on TV something about National Purple Heart Day being today, the 7th. I didn't know about it until I got home from town. I went there to get my uncle's purple heart and distinguished service medals from WWII. I know that most of you folks are patriotic like me so I thought I'd share these. My sisters found them in my late mothers house and was going to give them to the VFW, but I kinda thought they should be with family. I will take them to his grave on memorial day from now on. He was only 21 for 3 days before he got killed. Sorry about the page 2. I'll try to find it. Hope you can read the print as it is from a news paper clipping from then, I think, 1945.
God Bless America,
Gordon

My neighbor, a right small fella...

My neighbor, a right small fella, never mentioned his service at all. It wasn't until he died that I found out that he 'won' two Purple Hearts as a tail gunner.

Great respects to your Uncle and my neighbor, 'Robbie' Robinson.
