NC going BIG

Yes, but it takes the courage of individuals to make it happen, and it may not be there.
Anytime the Feds start to huff and puff, the average American wilts like a leaf.

North Carolina, Tenn. and a few States took a giant step to nullify US federal control in the early 1860s. I wasn't around then but I have read that there wasn't a happy ending. I do remember the 1960s and several States were going to do this and that or not do this and that but they ended up doing what the US Federal Govt said do. Larry

I will be impressed by a state legislature who attempts to nullify Federal gun laws after they have undone all the unnecessary restrictions their state imposes. In other words, when they pass legislation that actually benefits the gun owners of their state by doing something they actually have the power to do. Doesn't NC require something like a "Permit to Purchase" a handgun?

Most of the state nullification of Federal gun laws is nothing more than grandstanding.

yes, they do unless you have a CCW. absolutely ridiculous. I have a CCW from Florida which allows me to carry in NC amongst many other places, yet I cannot buy a handgun in NC. Say that again. I can carry one, own many but cant buy another without apply for and paying for a pistol purchase permit??? Dumb  And to add further fuel to the insanity, you need 1 permit per pistol you purchase. So lets say you go to a gun show and find 3 handguns you want to purchase, you had better have 3 permits on you to provide the sellers. Ironically the libs in Raleigh and Charlotte who support this idiotic law forget its roots and whom it was and, I suppose, could still be used to prevent from exercising their 2nd Amendment Rights. Its both sad and funny when they have to choose between gun laws and laws DESIGNED to discriminate. Its like dividing by zero :D

A Non-Progress Report

In real Second Amendment-related news, it shouldn't surprise any North Carolina firearms enthusiast that H699 and H886 languished in the North Carolina House Judiciary Committee, apparently without even being voted on.

So these bills are effectively dead, as the North Carolina legislature has ended its 2015 session, and will not reconvene until April of 2016.
