Winchesterwife and I were at a small gun show today looking at the usuall gun show stuff, you know, overpriced ARs, overpriced Smiths, etc. I found myself standing beside a very nice white haired gentleman, and peeking out of a leather holster slung over his shoulder was a pair of diamond magnas. Exicted about what might be attached to them, I whispered to my wife to look. I struck up a conversation with him about his revolver and asked if it was for sale, he replied that it was, and that it was a K22. We talked a while and he told me that he had bought it new in 1946 when he got out of the service! The gun was beautiful, and his asking price of 500 seemed more than fair, but I'm ok on K22s so I passed and wished him luck with his sale. As my wife and I were walking out, I thought about him being in WWII, and the fact that he had kept that gun for 63 years and wished I had bought it. I bet he had lots of great stories to share, I wish him well.

Old guy's are cool! Ya never know what they have done and learned along life's path.

winchester1, Nice story. Was the show at Bald Eagle? I was there around 2:30. Looked like the same guys and guns as the last show there.

I see you are in Huntington. My son recently graduated from Juniata College. I am just outside of Warriors Mark. We should meet sometime.

Hi Fred,
Yes, it was at Bald Eagle. I agree, same guys , same stuff! I work as a supervisor at Juniata College! Small world isn't it! Email me anytime, maybe we can get together and shoot. Don't forget the gun show at Centre Hall the weekend after Easter, it is usually a lot better.
Take care,

I think you may have missed a great opportunity. I know you said you were O.K. on K-22's,but 1946 guns don't grow on trees. I only wish that I had seen it!

I was at the BE show early on Sat AM. It is usually the "same show, different date" but sometimes something turns up at these small firehall shows. You just never know.

This time, I sprang for a Harrington & Richardson 1873 Trapdoor Musket replica in 45-70. It was there in January at $899 and this past Saturday we settled on $675. You just don't see the H&R Muskets anywhere near as often as the H&R Officers and Carbine models. With Italian repros over $1000, $675 sounded good.
