My old Lyman reloading manual does not list 200gn load data. I picked up a 296ti and with ammo being scarce, got a conversion kit for my RL550B. I will be using old Unique
cause I have 4# unopened. I have both Hornady 200gn sjhp and 200gn S&S hardcast rnfn.
I could not find anything in a couple of searches.
I'm looking for load data for both bullets.
Since it is a snubby and will be used for self defense (insert disclaimer here for anyone concerned) I'm not looking for target loads.
Thanks for any help!

Appreciate the input 356. Is that with the old Herc Unique?

rim,
As a general rule, and one that certainly can be applied to the 44Spl, is take a jacketed bullet of the same weight and reduce the charge by 1gr. That is your maximum for a lead bullet in that weight. Further reduce the charge by 10%, 3% for H110/W296 and that is your starting load.

I have spoken with several of the "Powder Company Technicians" and those are the instructions I have gotten from them.

It has always worked out well for me.

Only use this method when there is no other current data available for the combination you have.

Speer #14 lists for a 200 gr cast FN and CM bullet (Cowboy action)

Unique 7.8 grs start yields 1043fps, Max 8.7grs yields 1143fps

Test firearm Cimarron 5.5" barrel

For the 200 gr GDHP the Start is 7.0 grs and max is 7.8
788 fps and 855 fps

Seems odd the lead Cowboy data is higher than the JHP data but that's what it says.

I appreciate the additional info Gents. Since 200gn is the S&W max mandate as etched on the bbl.
I'm limited but having fun with it.
Thanks again for all your input.
