You will get a lot more velocity with less pressure with H110/W296. 210 grain hardcast bullets with 22-23 grains of H110 will run 1400+ fps from a 6" barrel.
I have never found 2400 to be that clean burning and have not used it since the 1970s...
I've loaded that bullet with 6.7 grains of WW-231 for 940 fps. I also use 15.5 grains of IMR-4227 to get 960 fps. Both very accurate and zero leading.
I use jacketed bullets for full power loads. I've seen severe leading usually around 1100fps+ when trying to push it. Pain in the behind to clean it out. Some handguns aren't as prone to it as mine are. Your's may do just fine.
that 296/110 is great stuff for magnum velocity but i paid for it with nasty flame cut on the top strap. trying to stick with 2400, thanks for the input.
