Need a bit of advice on the 45 Colt

Well I tried a few of the loads suggested here. Mostly a few round each. Not too hard to do with my setups for reloading. I liked the Unique loads with a cast 452424 bullet. Averaged just at 970 avg over the chrony. The 17.4 gr load of 2400 with a very hard cast 250 SWC was also a nice load. And ran a bit more than the other..

Check out John Linebaugh's article on S&W's chambered for .45 Colt. I'm currently using a few of his recommended loads in my 25-13 Mountain Gun.

The first is 24.0g of H-110 with a 255g Keith hard cast from Missouri Bullet Co. The second is 13g of HS-6 with the same bullet. I've also loaded 13g HS-6 with a 250g XTP. I generally prefer the HC over a JHP for woods carry so I haven't experimented with the XTP much.
