So, I sent off the check for my 629 Hunter today... and plan to use it as such. Apparently, the holster I want isn't common.

I'm looking for something like this -

But that is only made for 8 3/8 lengths.

So... who makes one? Or custom makes them?

One of the members here is Lobogunleather and he makes some really nice holsters. You might contact him and see if he can make you one. I believe his website is Lobo Gun Leather - Home or just do a search here on the forum. A lot of members have bought holsters from him and seem very satisfied. Just a suggestion.

If you don't mind synthethic holsters ( I sure don't) then the Bianchi Hush System for scoped revolvers has served me well for many, many years and a number of deer in rough country.

I carry a S&W Model 29 with 8 3/8" barrel, a Ruger Red Hawk with 7½" barrel, as well as an S&W Model 629 Light Hunter with 7½" barrel. All of them are scoped or Red Dots and are carried perfectly with little drama.

While I'm a big fan of custom leather, I certainly don't mind a synthetic if it is quiet and secure... How does the 7.5" Light hunter do specifically? Any chance of losing it on a rough 4wheeler ride?

Wasn't aware he made holsters for scoped revolvers like the OP asked for.
